Nicole Gilkey
MSW, LCSW
Licensed Mental Health Therapist
Thank you for reaching out and considering me as your therapist.
I enjoy working with people during any phase of their journey. It's rewarding to connect with couples, adolescents, and adults going through stage of life changes and or trauma. I am honored when given the opportunity to contribute to the healthy growth and development as individuals transition their gender presentation to better correlate with their sense of self and identity. I find joy in collaborating to cultivate peoples' motivations to change in a way that allows them to gain insight into their behaviors and achieve optimal health. I view people through a holistic lens thus seeing the whole person rather than their symptoms.
I have seen children and families for over a decade and I am trained in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and horticultural therapy. I spent three years as a member of the transgender care team for the Southeast Permanente Medical Group as well as the director of their chemical dependency recovery program.
I believe that healing, growth, and change happens through connection. I see, respect, and value each individual who walks through my door for exactly who they are. It takes a great deal of courage and vulnerability to take the steps to begin the process of working on oneself. I view the work done in therapy as a collaborative process guided by your goals.
