Mental Health Therapist

Carl Jung wrote, “No tree can reach heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.” Looking within ourselves, down to our roots, can be scary; but it is essential to reach to the heights of being. Facing our demons and learning to recognize them as parts that need our love and understanding is a profound act of courage and compassion. When we don’t feel our best, or straight-up not okay, it’s hard to recognize that the wisdom to heal, to change, to become everything we are meant to be is there within us from the start.

My philosophy of counseling is that this process is aided by the qualities of warmth, creativity, and sincerity: that’s what I bring to our sessions. I am here to walk with you, side by side, into the problem as you define it, to accompany you on this journey, to witness you with empathy and empower you to approach yourself with curiosity over fear, all while navigating the complex systems of which we are a part: from family, to community, to the world at large.

CREDENTIALS & APPROACH

  • M.A. Depth Psychology & Creativity, Pacifica Graduate Institute

  • M.A. Counseling, Clinical Mental Health, Saybrook University

  • Registered Associate, Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists

I am experienced in working with children, adolescent, and adult clients, primarily in school settings. I utilize a person-centered approach which emphasizes unconditional positive regard and empathic listening, cognitive and narrative methods to identify internalized beliefs in order to externalize and challenge them, Internal Family Systems to identify “parts” within ourselves and feeling towards them in order to heal, and a relational-cultural framework which prioritizes client dignity and explores complexities of clients’ sociocultural identities and dynamics.

WHO I WORK WITH
I work with children (age 10 and up), adolescents, adults, families, and couples from a wide variety of sociocultural backgrounds, identities, and family structures: all are welcome!

I specialize in:

  • Adolescent depression and anxiety disorders

  • Neurodivergent Masking and Shame

  • Relational issues between couples and within families

  • Addiction, recovery, and codependency

Showing up to the work of therapy is an important step towards reclaiming trust in our inner guidance system, and that first step is itself an act of great courage. I look forward to joining you in this, your journey to an even bigger and braver you.
