Miranda Pease

MA, Professional Counselor Associate

Mental Health Therapist

Everyone has their own reason for seeking support through therapy. I believe that therapy can be one of the most necessary forms of self-care to address any issue that you may be dealing with. It takes courage and openness to join the therapy process and I would be happy to introduce you to the ever evolving world of therapy and walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges and triumphs.

I strive to show up as a genuine, empathetic and person-focused therapist and to create a safe and confidential environment to process whatever may be on your mind. My style of therapy can be seen as casual but effective. Casual in the sense that I want you to feel that you can show up however you are able to, speak without a filter and be able to feel you are talking to another human being at the core. I utilize different modalities within therapy to fit each of my clients to develop the most effective approach each session so they leave feeling seen and heard in their lived experience. I find this approach helps clients to feel comfortable in the vulnerable space of therapy and that they can unapologetically be themselves. When I am not working, you can find me cooking up a new recipe, spending quality time with my people and my animals or traveling!

CREDENTIALS & APPROACH
My education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a focus in criminal and social justice, along with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling where I gained knowledge in topics such as crisis intervention, professional ethics and cultural considerations within therapy. My primary approach is using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which aims to change negative thinking and behavior patterns into more helpful ways of functioning. I also include approaches such as  Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which focuses on managing intense emotions and physical manifestations of symptoms with mindfulness and emotional regulation techniques, Humanistic Therapy, which takes into consideration the entire individual mind, body and spirit, and Psychodynamic Therapy, which focuses on the root of emotional suffering beginning in early stages of life.
