Megan Steele
MA, LPC
Licensed Mental Health Therapist
Thank you for reaching out and considering me as your therapist.
Let’s be honest, life is complicated. I would love to work alongside you as you navigate the challenges and joys of this messy world. Whether you are an individual, a partnership, or a family, I am excited to meet you.
My background is in crisis work, meeting with children, individuals, and families as they work toward stability. My favorite part of this has been watching each person find their voice and build confidence to live life as best as they can, whether they are seeing me individually or I am seeing them within the context of their relationships and families.
If you are here wanting support for your family, we will develop goals and identify areas of growth together. My family therapy sessions are structured to improve communication and understanding so that everyone feels heard, and so we can shift the loops of patterns that are no longer working. These sessions often include activities, art, and play, especially with young children, to balance out the difficult conversations and find new ways to grow together. No matter where you are as a family, or how many people you consider to be part of your family, I am here to work with you through the noise.
If you are a partnership or polyamorous relationship, I will work with you to develop new ways to strengthen your connection to each other and explore how to better balance each individual’s needs for the betterment of the relationship overall.
My education is in Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy; I have loved being able to access this dual degree and offer both traditional talk therapy and art therapy to the people I work with. Each of my sessions is designed to follow your lead, and provide you the support you are looking for. This can include using the creative process in session to provide a visual platform from which to talk about experiences you have had. If this is appealing to you, wonderful! We will have a lot of fun in our journey together! If it feels intimidating, or you do not have experience with art, take comfort in that I am also a lousy artist, and will never require you to make anything in session. It is simply another tool for us to try as we cultivate strategies to help you reach your goals.
