MC, LPC

Licensed Mental Health Therapist

Pronouns (she/her)

Thank you for reaching out and considering me as your therapist.

Three words to describe my style: empathetic, practical, direct

My approach to therapy is centered in the principles of ACT (acceptance of hard emotional experiences and intentional action based on your personal values) and focused on helping my clients build resilience using practical mindfulness skills and lifestyle adjustments (exercise, sleep hygiene, diet, social connection, stress and conflict management).

I have advanced training and experience in:

  • Exposure therapy for social anxiety

  • Trauma-informed mindfulness and yoga

  • Sport and performance anxieties

  • Crisis deescalation and risk assessment

  • Non-violent communication and conflict resolution

  • Safely and effective use of app-based mental health tools

I am comfortable in high-conflict, emotionally-charged situations; I was a lawyer for 13 years prior to transitioning to mental health, am a trained mediator and have worked extensively as a crisis intervention specialist.

When not working, I'm reading, watching B movies with my partner, hanging out with my dog (I adopt retired sled dogs), or exploring the outdoors on my bike. I am a cancer survivor (13 years and counting) and volunteer for numerous survivorship organizations.
