Mental Health Therapist
Asking for help and finding the right helper is a very difficult task for most of us, but being on this page means you’ve taken the first step. Take a moment to be proud! Whether you are seeking change through therapy or feeling overwhelmed with changes taking place, it would be an honor to be the helper to support you on your journey towards your goals.
My approach to therapy is empathetic, collaborative, and empowerment based. It is important to me to have genuine conversations that leave my clients feeling heard and understood. I aim to create a space that allows for humor, comfort, and openness while we explore the often vulnerable territory of feelings and experiences. I believe that the best therapeutic work we can do is led by my clients and supports them by highlighting and building on their strengths.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading mystery books, watching horror films, thrifting, cooking, and spending time with my dog, two cats, and partner.
CREDENTIALS & APPROACH
I hold a Master’s degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education & Counseling.
The foundation of my work lies in Intersectional Feminist therapies, which examines how our many identities interact with systemic power and oppressions to move towards empowerment and social justice in our lives and communities.
I also utilize several other approaches such as; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which uses mindfulness to acknowledge our relationships to our thoughts and feelings.
Motivational Interviewing, a collaborative approach to goal setting that focuses on one’s personal motivation for change.
Somatic Therapy which focuses on the connection of the mind and body to aid in trauma recovery.
WHO I WORK WITH
I work with adults, adolescents (14 & up), and couples of diverse backgrounds and identities. As a member of the queer community, I am passionate about providing affirming care for the LGBTQIA+ community that honors each unique identity and experience. I have experience working with older adults and have an interest in working with clients from or living in rural populations.
I specialize in:
Grief, loss, and other life changes.
