MA, Professional Counselor Associate

Mental Health Therapist

Living a meaningful life requires openness to new experiences, the full range of emotions, and acceptance of uncertainty. If you’re here, you are taking a significant and courageous step towards change. I would be honored to support you as you navigate current challenges, make sense of the past, and take action to move forward.

I am a warm, curious, and compassionate therapist who strives to deeply understand client problems and offer tailored interventions, with a touch of humor when appropriate. I believe that every individual and relationship is capable of growth and healing with the right tools and support. I work collaboratively with clients to explore emotions and build awareness of thoughts and behaviors that hold them back and cause distress. Because we often can’t think our way out of a problem or into “feeling better”, I support clients to act towards their values while embracing uncertain outcomes and difficult emotions, and with understanding of their unique challenges, cultural factors, and trauma history.

CREDENTIALS & APPROACH

I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Clinical Psychology and am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Oregon. I have experience supporting children, teens, adults, and couples in multiple outpatient settings. I specialize in treating anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and depression. As a career switcher with more than a decade in the business world, I also bring practical insight into navigating life and career transitions.

My primary approach for individuals is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which examines how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence each other and can be altered to improve well-being. For OCD and anxiety disorders, I offer Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, which involves gradual exposure to anxiety-inducing stimuli to increase tolerance and reduce compulsions and avoidance behaviors. I integrate skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to address challenges related to emotional dysregulation and interpersonal dysfunction. For couples, I lean on the Gottman Method to develop skills and habits that promote fondness and connection and improve communication, conflict management, and problem-solving.
