Addiction can be overwhelming and make you feel alone. Rediscover your life with support and connection.
Do you find yourself turning to a substance or behavior to help manage certain feelings, after interactions with certain people or to cope with your thoughts? Everyone does this from time to time. Sometimes the problem doesn’t resolve itself and the thing that was helping you to cope becomes less and less helpful and more intrusive into your personal life and relationships. It can feel like you don’t know how to manage with it anymore.
Beth Wiseman, one of our licensed clinicians, acknowledges that all forms of addictive behavior are a way of coping and rarely the only or main problem. However, they can keep people from getting help with the struggles underneath their addiction. She uses Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy to support her clients in understanding what they are coping with. She use a dual approach of working on the underlying struggle while helping clients learn new ways to cope with stress. She also works with clients on rebuilding relationships, refocusing on goals and aspirations and developing healthy supports.
The opposite of addiction is not sobriety but connection. Let us partner with you in reconnecting with the things you love and value in life.
